new orleans snow
One year to the day, on December 11th, 2008, something happened in the city of New Orleans that rarely ever happens…SNOW! I should consider myself lucky that I was present for this somewhat historic event, though at the time it seemed a tad unfair. Living in New York at the time, and while packing for the trip down to “The Big Easy”, there was a certain sense of excitement to get out of the cold that generally has a grip of NYC that time of year, and get to somewhere warm for a little while. With an averages in the month of December of 65 F as a high and 46 as a low, imagine the surprise while in the conference center and look out the window one afternoon and see a heavy dose of the white stuff falling from the sky. It had only previous snowed in 2004, and prior to that in 1989.
