rainbow falls
Rainbow falls (aka Kilauea Falls) is a waterfall located in the town of Kilauea on the island of Kauai in Hawaii. While not the most accessible waterfall on the island, it may be one of the most beautiful. In addition to the impressive width of these falls, the ability to actually go behind the falling water is enjoyable and provides for a fresh perspective.
Visitors can make their way to the falls via hiking, biking or rafting the river (with a short hike). The catch with each of these is that the main path by which the falls are accessible is actually on private property and thus is subject to the owners willingness to let people through. So far in each trek to the falls, there has not proven to be an issue, and recently there has been hints that there may come assurances that these falls remain forever undeveloped, with the path being officially open to the public.
