Lake Palace on Lake Pichola
The Lake Palace, also formally known as the White Palace was originaly built between the 16th and 18th centuries when Udaipur was made the capital city of Mewar. Currently this palace and its temples serve visitors as a hotel in the middle of the lake. Travel to and from palace is done exclusively via boat, which would alone would seem to bring back some of that old world charm.
