dave climbs up one of the rolling hills
Since we began this expedition by being dropped off at the foothills of the Brooks Range, we’d be remiss if we didn’t explore deeper in. From the river, the hills look like simple little flat areas of grass… but of course, as with most mountain trekking, that is far from reality.
In this shot, Dave is climbing up one of the hills after we trekked south along the Aichilik to get a sense of how the river was running further in (south). While the easy route would have been to return the way we came, since it was flat and there were enough game trails to follow, we decided to take the road even less travelled.
